A proven method for gas isolation and detection for use in school
laboratories and workshops, commercial catering establishments
where compliance with BS 6173 is required, boiler house applications
and also gas control in hospitals.
The GasGuardT 1 Automatic Gas Proving System provides complete
protection from leaks and critical loss of pressure. This unique
system provides a full pressure test of all supply pipework and
detects all levels of leaks unlike other systems using weep bypass
methods.
The GasGuardT 1 System is quick and easy to install and does
not require Corgi Engineers for commissioning or extra pipe work
for weep by-pass venting. The system consists of a wall mounted
control panel and a self contained actuator/pressure sensing unit.
The actuator unit is easily fitted into the main gas supply and
no intervalve pipework is required thus maintaining low installation
costs. The interface between the control panel and actuator only
requires a five core cable. Gas availability times can be set
manually from 1 to 9 hours (in one hour increments) and also on
a continuous setting if timing is not required. This is particularly
useful in catering and boiler house applications
Operation
Starting, or re-starting after shut-down, of the unit is simple.
Turning the keyswitch will start the proving process and the
automatic test. If the test proves successful the Gas "ON" light
will illuminate. If a leak is detected or mains gas is not present
then the system will default to Fail Safe mode giving audible
and visual alarms.
Once the leak has been corrected the unit can be re-started.
System Standard Features
Extraction Systems BS6173
The system can easily be interfaced to a kitchen extraction
system using a Flamefast differential pressure switch.
Remote Emergency Stop Button
Additional Emergency Stops can be fitted remotely to the control
panel to isolate the gas supply immediately in the event of an
emergency.
Fire Alarm
The Gasguard 1 system has a Fire Alarm interface fitted as standard.
BMS
The Gasguard 1 system has a BMS interface fitted as standard.
This also allows control of other services such as electricity.
Gas Detector Interface
The GasGuardT 1 system has a Gas Sniffer interface fitted as
standard. This allows for the monitoring or unburned hydrocarbons
(e.g Natural Gas) or Carbon Monoxide

Master/Slave Configuration
The system can be supplied as either a master supervisor unit

Gas Sensor
Separate Natural Gas Sensors are available to isolate the gas
supply immediately in the event of a gas leak during operation

are required.
