The fail safe Gasguard™3 Automatic Isolation System provides complete protection of the gas supply by monitoring the gas pressure, detecting any pressure loss caused inadvertently or deliberately and automatically shutting down the gas system to maintain safety. On shut down due to low gas pressure, the unit gives audible and visual alarms.
The Gasguard™ Automatic Isolation System consists of a control Unit and an Actuator Unit to suit pipe sizes from 1 inch (25 mm).
The self contained Actuator Unit contains the valve hardware and is easily fitted directly into the main gas supply pipework. No inter-valve pipework is needed and there is no bleed of gas to atmosphere. Interconnection of the Control Unit and the Actuator Unit requires only a 5 core cable.
The Gasguard Control Unit functions as a Gas Proving System only or as a dual function system. A seven day 24 hour time clock facility enables the gas supply to be totally controlled and provided only during the required hours of operation. It is also fitted with an emergency stop button.
GAS PROVING
Starting, or re-starting after shut-down, of the unit is simple.
Turning the keyswitch to ‘ON’ initiates an automatic
system test. If the test proves successful the main gas valve
will open normally. If a leak is detected the system will go to
Fail Safe mode giving audible and visible alarms. A manual check
of the pipework, gas taps etc. needs to be carried out and the
leak rectified after which the unit can be re-started.

TIME CONTROL FUNCTION
The Gasguard Control Unit clock module contains a permanent time and day-of-week display. There are seven programmes allowing separate ON/OFF times to be programmed for each day of the week. The gas valve control circuitry is fully automatic. The only settings required are the ON/OFF times and the setting of any required daily override times. A 3000 hour clock battery backup is also incorporated to cover long periods of electrical isolation.
MANUAL OVERRIDE
If gas is required outside the set programmed times a manual override is available for 1, 2 or 3 hour periods. If the override time overlaps the programme start time, gas will be available until the next programmed ‘OFF’ time.
REMOTE CONTROL
Additional remote stop buttons in various locations can be used to isolate the gas supply immediately in the event of an emergency.
GAS SENSOR
Separate Natural Gas and LPG sensors are available to isolate the gas supply immediately in the event of a gas leak during operation and to give an audible alarm.
FIRE ALARM
The Gasguard system can be linked with the building fire alarm if required.
