CELEBRATION: Jewellery
Specification
Jewellery in this context would not be for personal adornment but as an artifact for display. For example, a cross, a large pendant or shield inlaid with enamels. The jewellery might reflect an industrial perspective like, for example, ship building, furniture making or ceramics. It might reflect a historical perspective influenced by a local castle, a battle or march. The item may demonstrate an aspect of multi-culture within the community or a genealogical influence.
A more modern approach might be taken which could be influenced by music. A local band which could be ethnic, brass or a local group who have made the charts. The influence could be sporting , a minor sporting club or a giant like Manchester United. Whichever path you choose research the topic thoroughly and if, appropriate, link together a number of local interests and themes.
